How to Get out of Holiday Mode and Back into a Good Work Routine

One week after New Year’s Eve was my first attempt of restarting the “self-motivation engine” after stalling dead in the middle of the road as soon as my family and I had left for our short end of year road trip.

We had a really great time away with our friends and their kids to a small beach town where there were no alarms, no looming project deadlines and for the most part, no laptops. (I couldn’t help sneaking in a few minutes checking my affiliate sales!).

How To Set Your Morning Up For Success

I’m bluntly stealing this idea from the one-and-only Tim Ferriss who asks each of his podcast guests the same question: “What do the first ideal 60-90 minutes look like upon waking?”

I, as Ferris is, am a firm believer that if you set yourself up correctly you give yourself a huge boost in the right direction each day. Listening to his highly successful guests detail their morning routines has given me many tips and hacks that have lead to a more productive and happier me that carries on throughout the day.

Dear Mr. Boss, Screw U: My First 2 Weeks Inside the “Screw U” Membership Forum

I can’t quite say that to my boss yet but the count down timer is on. It will only be another year or two at most before I’m free from the dreaded 5 am Monday through Friday alarm.

I realised around 18 months ago after reading “The Four Hour Work Week” by Tim Ferriss that my life was not panning out how I’d “dreamed” it would. (I know, I now, how cliché). The more important lesson I learned from that book is that there was something I could do about it to change it – become an online entrepreneur.

How to Create a Habit that Sticks

Falling Off the Waggon

One of the best books I’ve read this year that has really had a positive impact on my life comes from Arnold Schwarzenegger’s autobiography – Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story. In the book, Arnold is constantly reminding the reader that there are no shortcuts in life and if you want to be the best, you have to put in the hard yards to get there.

Focus and Flow

While the invention of computers and smartphones have fundamentally changed our lives for the better by making almost everything we do easier, they come with the added side effect of easily enabling us to become highly distracted.

I work from my laptop each day in an office all by myself without ever having a boss looking over my shoulder. Some may say that this is the dream but for me it can be absolute torture – especially knowing that I could be working on my own business by just opening another tab in Chrome.

Three Things You Should Ask Yourself Each Day

It’s 5 am. My alarm is ringing and I’ll be sure to hit the snooze button another 3-4 times before getting up and doing it all over again.

The Weekday Routine

At some point a few years ago my days just seemed to blend in from one to the next. There was nothing different. Sure, the date and weather may be different. But pretty much everything else is fundamentally the same.

How to Surround Yourself With Money Experts

Chugging Beers

For some reason unbeknownst to me, we come out of school with a certificate saying “You’re ready… now go tackle the world”.

This may be just fine for some. But for most, it can be an incredibly daunting and scary time in our lives.
